Refund policy

This policy applies to consumer purchases from Designing Liefde. It explains change-of-mind cancellations separately from rights concerning faulty, damaged, incorrect or missing goods. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

Change-of-mind cancellation

Consumers in the United Kingdom and United States may cancel an eligible order without giving a reason from the time the contract is formed until 14 days after the day the goods are received. If one order arrives in separate deliveries, the period runs from the day after the final item is received.

To cancel, email us with a clear statement that you want to cancel the order. Include your name, order number, contact details and the products you are cancelling. You do not need to complete a form.

After notifying us, you must send the goods back within a further 14 days.

Please contact us before posting so that we can provide practical instructions and identify the parcel correctly. Contacting us first is not a condition that removes a statutory cancellation right.

Return condition

You may inspect products as you reasonably could in a physical shop. If handling goes beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of a product, we may reduce the refund by the actual reduction in value caused by that handling.

Opening packaging does not automatically remove your return right or create a restocking fee. Using or removing stickers may substantially reduce their value.

Sale items have the same change-of-mind return rights as full-price items.

Return postage

You are responsible for the direct postage cost of a change-of-mind return. We recommend obtaining proof of posting and using a service with suitable tracking or compensation.

If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise do not conform to the contract, Designing Liefde will cover reasonable return costs where a return is required.

Change-of-mind refunds

Following a valid cancellation, we will refund the price paid for eligible returned products.

For a UK statutory cancellation, we will also refund the amount paid for our least expensive standard outbound delivery option. If you selected a more expensive service, the additional premium is not refundable unless required by law. Current delivery charges are set out in our Shipping Policy.

For a voluntary US change-of-mind return, the original outbound delivery charge is not refunded unless we stated otherwise when you ordered or applicable law requires it.

We will issue the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the earliest of:

• the day we receive the goods back; or
• the day you provide evidence that you sent them back.

Refunds are made to the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. We do not charge a refund or restocking fee.

Faulty, damaged, incorrect or missing goods

This section is separate from the change-of-mind policy.

Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose made known to us and as described. UK consumers have remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Depending on the circumstances and timing, these may include the short-term right to reject, repair or replacement, a price reduction or a final right to reject.

If a product is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect, incomplete or missing, Email us promptly with your order number and a description of the problem. Photographs may help us resolve the issue, but they are not a condition of your legal rights.

Where goods do not conform to the contract, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law and cover reasonable return costs. US customers retain all non-excludable warranties and remedies available under applicable federal or state law.

Exchanges

We do not guarantee direct exchanges. The simplest option may be to return the eligible product for a refund and place a new order. This does not affect any right to repair or replacement for faulty goods.

Order changes and pre-dispatch cancellations

Contact us immediately if you need to correct or cancel an order. We will try to help, but an address or order change may not be possible after dispatch. A valid consumer cancellation right remains unaffected.
